Key Responsibilities & Activities:
- Develop, test, review, and maintain Python code for data ingestion, transformation, and processing within streaming and batch pipelines.
- Utilize dbt to develop, test, and document data transformation models for AWS Redshift.
- Collaborate on the design and refinement of data models that support analytics and business requirements.
- Assist in the development and optimization of ETL/ELT workflows using AWS DMS, Kinesis, and other relevant tools.
- Investigate and resolve data pipeline issues to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Engage with senior engineers to acquire best practices in data engineering and modeling.
- Produce documentation for code, models, and processes to facilitate team knowledge sharing.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Data Engineering:2+ years of full-time experience in data engineering, designing, code review, and managing ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Cloud Data Platforms:Understanding of cloud data platforms like AWS Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Programming:Python, SQL (MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server), dbt, AWS (DMS, S3, Airflow, Kinesis, DocumentDB, CloudWatch, Kubernetes, Glue).
- Version Control & CI/CD:Familiar with version control (GitHub), building CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Data Warehousing:Understanding of data warehousing best practices, design, and implementation in a multi-tenant environment.
