The Position
Genentech, Inc. seeks a Business Systems Analyst at its South San Francisco, CA location.
Duties: Work closely with Product Owner, IT Business Partner, Product Manager and Subject Matter Experts to gather information on business needs, drive requirements analysis, and determine priority and business value. Translate business strategy into technical informatics context and work with IT Product Managers, IT Business Partners and IT Architects to develop enhancement proposals and roadmaps that support the strategy. Lead IT project scoping phase. Collaborate with business and informatics stakeholders to identify business needs, as well as lead the business case development for new initiatives including high level solution options and resource estimates. Develop and implement data-driven solutions to improve business processes and performance as well as develop reports and dashboard to provide meaningful and interactive insights to Clinical Scientists. Define user stories and facilitate acceptance facilitation. Create and maintain technical documentation, including a high quality, prioritized backlog for products in their scope. Facilitate interviews and workshop sessions with business users one-to-one and in groups as needed. On the basis of identified business needs, be responsible for establishing fit-for-purpose user requirements and any related documentation as required by CSV, PMM or agile frameworks. Create as-is and to-be process maps and narratives. Identify, manage and resolve risks. Lead the resolution of business systems issues. Contribute to all areas of business system implementation including but not limited to vendor interaction, system configuration, change control, qualification, deployment, and training. Strive for harmonization of business systems processes across functions, departments and sites by propagating common standardized data models, applications and technologies that are in line with the cross-functional or functional Informatics strategies and architectures. Help drive successful completion of projects and programs across portfolios. Implement and adhere to various data classifications security and privacy regulations. Telecommuting is permitted full-time from anywhere in the US. May supervise 0-5 junior business systems analysts.
Education and experience required: Master's Degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science or Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of experience as a Business, Computer, or IT Systems Analyst or a related role
Alternative education and experience required: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science or Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, and 7 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Business, Computer, or IT Systems Analyst or a related role
Special Requirements:
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $176,088 to $233,700 per year. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below. - User Acceptance Testing

- Position requires 2 years experience with:
- Python and R scripting
