Role Definition

As a Test & Validation Senior Associate Engineer, you will play a critical role in engine development tests for C280 NTI and NPI programs by improving program velocity by efficiently utilizing test cell resources and minimizing engine and test cell downtime. Individual will work with engine performance engineers to implement engine and test cell setup to meet test objectives.

Degree Requirement
  • A bachelor's in engineering degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience.


What you will do
  • Conduct engine performance, validation, and certification tests with safety driven approach.
  • Participate in engine, test setup and data acquisition plans, per program and test goals.
  • Plan, procure and install - validation hardware, instrumentation per validation test requirements.
  • Ensure test readiness - Engine install, cell calibrations, facility, and instrumentation equipment repair.
  • Provide communication and guidance for cell operators to conduct engine tests across multiple shifts.
  • Investigate and document engine hardware/test cell issues for further actions.
  • Analyze test data to ensure engine/test cell health and data quality per test instructions.
  • Document and communicate test hardware/data results to technical and program leadership.
  • Perform work in accordance with ISO 17025 processes.


What you will need (Skill Descriptors)
  • Product Testing: 2+ years of experience in engine development testing - performance/validation.
  • Technical Excellence: Understanding of diesel engine hardware, validation tests, engine performance parameters, test data acquisition equipment and instrumentation.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Detail review/execution of engine hardware, engine operating setup, and test data.
  • Analytical Thinking: Conduct necessary data analysis to verify engine and test cell health.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Evaluate engine test plan requirements, available options and recommend business driven solution.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Support root cause analysis and issue resolution for engine hardware/software and test cell equipment.
  • Effective Communications: Document and communicate test results and cell operation progress.
  • Project Management: Data driven feedback for test planning, estimate test duration, provide requirements for special test setup.


Top Candidates will also have
  • Conducted C280 engine performance, validation, and certification tests.
  • Understanding of C280 hardware configurations and interactions for product reliability.
  • Understanding of C280 calibration parameters and its effect on performance and emission.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and analysis processes and tool.

  • This position will close on 05/2/2025.
  • This position will be located onsite in Mossville, IL (Tech Center-Building L).
  • Domestic relocation is NOT Available.

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $131,280.00
