Job Description:

The Senior Accounting & Finance Systems Analyst, Reporting, acts as a strategic partner, leveraging insights, technical expertise, and strong collaboration skills to drive reporting excellence. This position collaborates with business and technical teams to align reporting efforts, leverage data-driven insights and ensure delivery of scalable, compliant, and impactful reporting solutions. In this capacity, the Senior Analyst evaluates and implements cutting-edge solutions-including AI and other advanced technologies-to enhance reporting capabilities and drive analytics innovations aimed at uncovering profitability opportunities and supporting data-informed decision-making. Key stakeholders include specialized functions such as Pricing, Client Accounting, and Financial Planning & Strategy, among others.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Drive cross-functional alignment by partnering with stakeholders across Accounting, Finance, and IT to define and refine reporting roadmaps, addressing objectives, challenges, and priorities
  • Lead discovery and analysis sessions to capture reporting needs, eliminate redundancies, reinforce centralized governance, and ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • Document and maintain reporting artifacts including requirements, use case assessments, data definitions, and source system mappings to promote clarity, transparency, and auditability
  • Identify gaps in business processes, systems, or data, and recommend improvements by staying informed on industry trends, regulatory changes and emerging technologies including AI and other advancements shaping reporting systems
  • Translate business needs into technical deliverables by developing user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria in collaboration with stakeholders and delivery teams
  • Evaluate the impact of new or changing reports, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and proactively identifying downstream dependencies
  • Support testing efforts by validating data accuracy and contributing to quality assurance processes
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on financial reporting systems and data architecture, providing insights and guidance across projects
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with internal teams and vendors to drive integration, deployment, and effective change management of reporting solutions
  • Promote adoption of standardized, simplified online reporting tools that enable self-service and best practices across departments
  • Ensure solutions align with internal and external controls, supporting compliance and mitigating risk

Job Specifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field required; Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • At least seven (7) years of experience in financial reporting and analysis, product ownership, or systems implementation roles, preferably within Accounting & Finance domains
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reporting solutions and tools (e.g., Power BI, Iridium, data warehouses, or similar platforms)
  • Experience leveraging AI technologies to enhance financial reporting capabilities and streamline processes
  • Familiarity with enterprise financial systems and their reporting functionalities is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial operations; prior exposure to Pricing, Client Accounting, and Financial Planning & Strategy functions is highly valued
  • Proven ability to gather and synthesize complex requirements from diverse stakeholder groups
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and consistently deliver initiatives on time in a fast-paced environment

Target Hiring Range $113,000 - $150,000

Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWE provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work.
