Job Description:
SUMMARY
Oversees day to day operations of collegewidefaculty professional development for full-time faculty, lecturers, and part-timeinstructors/adjunct faculty. Coordinates with the Adjunct Services andWorkforce Innovation to ensure inclusion and collaboration in faculty andinstructor professional development opportunities. Collaborates with college executive leadership,deans, staff and vendors to plan and execute college-wide faculty events suchas Convocation, Faculty Colloquium, Adjunct Conferences, Unconference, FacultyConversations, Faculty Mentoring, Tenure Track Onboarding, etc.

Target Starting Salary Range: $85,000 to $90,000
The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).

Job Description:

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Leads, facilitates, and initiates training that enhances faculty professional development, student learning, expands use of innovative and effective teaching pedagogies, broadens use of technology and advanced techniques for promoting active learning, and improves competencies in documenting learning and curriculum design
- Collaborates with the AVP, Academic Professional Development, Instructional Design & Online Learning and campus leadership to create and implement a faculty development strategic plan that supports the continued scholarship and professional growth of full-time and part-time instructors/adjuncts
- Directs, organizes and manages year-long tenure-track faculty Onboarding to teaching and learning program focusing on creating a community of practice that collaborates and supports student success and the student completion agenda. Provides additional faculty development support for tenure track faculty
- Leads, manages and supervises day-to-day operations of the Academic Professional Development area and supervises assigned team members, working alongside a team of faculty development coordinators and mentoring coordinators
- Collaborates with college leadership, AAUP and JFSC to make recommendations on programming that supports faculty and student success and learning, while expanding the use of technology and improving competencies in documenting learning and curriculum design
- Collaborates with executive leadership, Online Learning and Technology (OLAT), Instructional Design and Learning Excellence (ID&LE), School Deans and Faculty, Information Technology Services (ITS), Human Resources, Articulation, Transfer and Prior Learning, Curriculum and Development, Workforce Innovation, and Adjunct Services to create comprehensive training and development opportunities, schedules and communication plans for faculty
- Serves as Budget Unit Leader (BUL) for Academic Professional Development and manages department budgets in all aspects. Seeks external resources that support excellence in teaching and learning and promote pedagogical innovation
- Seeks funding and manages internal and external grants to support faculty development initiatives. Supports logistics and administration for internal grants, such as Faculty Innovation Grant (FIG) and Learning Teaching Excellence (LTE) Grant
- Responsible for envisioning, developing, and delivering a comprehensive program to support the career-long development of faculty in the areas of teaching, learning, research, and creative activities
- Manages and promotes College-wide faculty development calendar and website
- Works with Integrated Communications to create collateral materials and communication for events and training, and to update faculty webpage. Also collaborates with Integrated Communications regarding faculty development opportunities and College-Wide events. Leads website redesign and maintenance of faculty central webpage and various communication streams
- Manages timelines, budgets, coordination and delegation of duties for key department functions or projects
- Facilitates and collaborates with Faculty Coordinators, Faculty Mentoring Coordinators, co-chair of Faculty Colloquium, and other faculty groups/administrative offices
- Manages entire processes for all College-wide faculty awards. Identifies awards and scholarship opportunities to showcase faculty expertise and teaching excellence
- Researches, collects and compiles data for reporting and information purposes
- Conducts needs assessments and usability analysis, develops metrics, and reports the evaluation and impact and successes of programs. Recommends and implements changes
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor's Degree
- Significant related experience may substitute for education
- Minimum of seven years of experience in training and development or related field
- Demonstrated understanding of current research and best practices related to faculty development, and trends in higher education
- Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have a major impact on the management and operations of the department
- Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive environments
- Demonstrated budget management experience
