Job Description:

HITACHI RAIL is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Wayside Case & House Wiring Manufacturing Managerwho thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC.

Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for the Wires and Cables' business unit's operations, capacity planning, resources and management.
  • Support business unit growth while continuing to build the skill sets and lead a strong team of people with cross-functional responsibilities, including training matrix.
  • Coordination of Manufacturing/Production efficiency.
  • Manages and monitors quality of work
  • Manage production scheduling, resource planning and development, and total manufacturing cost.
  • Work with Director of Manufacturing Operations on establishing an annual manufacturing budget.
  • Responsible for aspects of the business unit's operational performance results including the achievement of Safety target, Defective Parts, On Time Delivery, and other KPI's.
  • Coach team members and continue to support the company Core Values while developing a strong culture.
  • Provide support for key customer accounts including developing relationships with some customer representatives, Project Manager, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Design teams and resolving customer issues.
  • Serve as a member of the Business Unit's Leadership Team and play a key role in the achievement of the Company's Vision and Strategy within the business unit.
  • Collaborate with other Functional teams in the establishment of procedures as required by the appropriate standards and customer requirements, in ensuring our continuing compliance.
  • Manage the Health and Safety and Environmental functions to drive best practices within the Business Unit.
  • Support other areas of the company with respect to joint initiatives


Required Skills/Experience:
  • At least 5 years' experience managing direct report employees
  • Strong technical acumen, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum 5 years electro-mechanical manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with operating and capital budgeting oversite and tracking.
  • Understanding of Lean, continuous improvement, quality and related topics with relevant work experience
  • Proficiency of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning software
  • +3 years of project management experience
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint


Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Experience working in Power BI or other similar data visualization platforms

    Knowledge of Rail Control Systems


Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering OR degree equivalency OR Associate's Degree plus extra 2 years job-related work experience (for a total of 7 years of required work experience) OR 9 years of job-related work experience.
