Job Description

The Impact Finance Syndications Assistant Director of Fund Management (ADFM) is a senior leader of the Syndications team. The role is critical in determining strategy and investor management to grow the Syndications platform, strengthen investor relationships, and capitalize on the strong revenue opportunities. This ADFM is responsible for high level Syndication strategy in investor management for our syndications platform as well as effectively and efficiently leading a team.

The ADFM will manage a team of Fund Managers who oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of a portfolio of syndicated tax credits focused on Low Income Housing Tax Credit funds as well as the New Markets Tax Credit funds. The ADFM will be very involved in the development and build out of an unguaranteed syndications platform which will require strong industry experience, a focus on process improvements, and strong collaboration skills. Additionally, the ADFM will provide leadership and training over the day-to-day operations of the overall portfolio of funds under management.

A successful candidate for the Syndication Assistant Director of Fund Management will demonstrate the ability to lead a team of Fund Managers with respect to the following:
  • Preparation of annual and quarterly performance reports to investors, including quarterly financial models of the Syndicated Funds' tax benefit schedules,
  • Review of tax returns associated with tax credit projects and analysis of variances from original projections,
  • Recording journal entries and performing additional accounting work associated with the Syndicated Funds,
  • Communicating with investors and responding to investor requests,
  • Preparing internal approval memos and annual review memos related to the Syndicated Funds,
  • Interacting with other teams within U.S. Bank to understand project performance and gather information required for the preparation of the annual tax returns and audits for the syndicated funds.


The ADFM will also be responsible for the following leadership tasks:
  • Ongoing development and coaching of staff,
  • Developing the overall strategy for Fund Management in partnership with the Director of Fund Management,
  • Serving as the leadership contact within the organization with respect to specific tax credit programs,
  • Overseeing special projects related to growth and process improvements within the team,
  • Overseeing relationships with outside vendors assisting with the preparation of annual reporting.


Basic Qualifications
  • Typically Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other related fields, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically eight or more years of related experience
  • Typically three or more years of management experience


Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Strong understanding of the market in all tax credit asset classes
  • Well-developed leadership abilities and strategic management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Considerable tact, diplomacy, and people skills
  • Master's degree preferred

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $143,905.00 - $169,300.00 - $186,230.00
