Job Title: MTAP - Senior IT VMR/VMO Enterprise Application Lead

The IT Vendor Management Office at McKesson is pivotal in orchestrating and nurturing the relationships between our external technology vendors, service providers, and internal IT Service Owners and Stakeholders. We are seeking a distinguished Lead IT Vendor Manager specializing in Enterprise Applications and Service Delivery Operations. This role is integral to the strategic selection and determination of vendors, in partnership with internal stakeholders, the VMO, and Sourcing & Procurement teams. The successful candidate will adeptly navigate contract negotiations and ensure robust performance monitoring and communication channels between vendors and stakeholders. This position requires deep expertise in the Software Development Lifecycle, DevOps, Cloud, ERP, CRM, SCM, and HRMS to guarantee alignment with organizational policies, cost efficiency, and quality standards. Additionally, the role encompasses risk management and strategic planning, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence to enhance the value derived from vendor partnerships for McKesson.

Starting Pay is between $116,600.00 to $170,000.00 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Third-Party Service Delivery Excellence

Strategic Focus:
  • Service Level Agreement (SLA) Performance Management

Vendor Performance Management:
  • Drive IT VMO third-party vendor performance by ensuring adherence to SLAs, contractual obligations, and McKesson's performance expectations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability with IT VMO third-party suppliers, aligning with McKesson's goals and promoting continuous improvement.


Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between McKesson's internal stakeholders and IT VMO third-party providers, ensuring effective collaboration, delivery satisfaction, SLA performance, and conflict resolution.


Process Optimization:
  • Support the evaluation, standardization, and streamlining of vendor management processes to enhance efficiency and minimize operational bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to automation solutions for repetitive vendor management tasks, ensuring scalability and reducing manual intervention.


Data and Analytics Framework:
  • Data-Driven Insights and Analytics based on data collected on SLA performance and stakeholder feedback
  • Manage and support a robust data and analytics framework, providing accessible key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for real-time decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align reporting with executive needs, delivering timely and relevant insights for strategic decisions.


Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by suggesting process changes that enhance vendor relationship performance and value.


Compliance Assurance:
  • Ensure adherence to internal IT VMO standards and processes across all teams and third-party partners.
  • Manage and enforce governance frameworks that align vendor activities with McKesson's policies, industry regulations, and risk management practices.


Risk Management and Auditing:
  • Conduct regular audits of vendor management processes to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Provide oversight for regulatory reporting and documentation, ensuring transparency and traceability of all vendor management activities.
  • Provide leadership and Third-Party oversight in mitigating risk to McKesson


Business Experience:

The MTAP - Senior IT VMR/VMO Enterprise Application Lead will drive managing service provider relationships and ensuring optimal performance of enterprise applications. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of conceptualizing, planning, and implementing complex programs, while effectively communicating with stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives. The ideal candidate will be a proven thought leader, adept at navigating change and delivering tangible results.

The optimal candidate for this position will have the following experiences and expertise:
  • 10+ years of IT Delivery and Vendor Management experience, including prior experience as a service provider.
  • Proven program management experience, specifically in outsourcing contract management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and integrate large initiatives and operations.
  • Experience leading change initiatives focused on vendor optimization, service delivery and financial outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of benchmarking methodologies.
  • Expertise in outsourcing, performance measurement, and monitoring.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations, anticipate future trends, and develop strategic solutions.


Minimum Job Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent practical experience required.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field preferred.
  • Certifications in ITIL Foundation V3, Procurement/Supply Chain Management, Six Sigma, or PMI are desirable.


Technical Skills & Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in ERP, CRM, SCM, and Knowledge Management Systems.
  • Intermediate understanding of large-scale data handling and secure operations.
  • Awareness of cloud computing, AI/ML, IoT, digital transformation, and emerging technologies.

Relocation is NOT budgeted for this position.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
