DSHS SCC Chief of Resident Treatment

TheSpecial Commitment Center (SCC)programs provide specialized mental health treatment for civilly committed sex offenders who have completed their prison sentences. We are seeking our next Chief of Resident Treatment to join the executive leadership at SCC.

In the first six to twelve months, the new Chief will work to create and implement their vision for Evidenced-Based Treatment into the treatment curriculum for the nationally recognized program two years running. As the new Chief, you will need to spend time learning and understanding the program in order to develop this vision. The ability to build relationships with other departments at SCC will be critical.

This role directly impacts public safety. Residents that are civilly committed receive evidence-based treatment which provides them with the tools to be safe in the community. In this role, you will oversee this treatment and play a pivotal role in keeping the public safe through providing the best evidenced-based treatment possible to support the success of SCC residents upon release.

This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact as a leader in implementing your vision and building the treatment program.

SCC employees also receive an additional $10 per day premium pay in addition to advertised salary and a free ORCA card for transportation use. Ferry transportation is provided to McNeil Island employees. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Some of what youll do:

• Provide clinical, administrative and managerial direction and oversight
• Ensure the provision of evidence-based group and individual therapies
• Assigns and reviews treatment specific interventions for residents with mental health conditions
• Coordinate the education and training of clinical staff
• Audit resident treatment plans and clinical documentation
• Edit and approve the agencys sex offender treatment program manuals
• Collaborate with other SCC managers
• Develop, manage and renew contracts with institutions, agencies and professionals
• Serve as Chair of the Clinical Team
• Ensure residents are recommended or considered for conditional/unconditional release and revocation of conditional release status are reviewed and assessed by the clinical team
• Provide written clinical recommendations to the CEO
• Serves as the CEOs consultant on all Resident Treatment Program issues

What were looking for:

Licensed Psychologists with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA or CPA accredited institution and three years of experience providing sex offender specific treatment or treatment in a correctional or forensic setting.
