Description:
As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electromechanical hardware and software solutions. Expertise in PLC programming, schematic design, electrical testing, and troubleshooting is required.
The salary for this Controls Engineer is from 90K to 100K. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities for the Controls Engineer include:
- Create and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
- Develop and maintain PLC software for various applications, including automation, process control, and robotics.
- Assist in creating specifications, critical parameters and statement of work.
- Apply knowledge in electrical power transmission, controls systems, programing, wiring/panel design, automation for design and development.
- Conduct thorough electrical testing and troubleshooting to ensure system functionality and reliability.
- Utilize problem solving and creative thinking skills to develop solutions and implement design options with customers, suppliers and manufacturing, while working collaboratively within a team environment.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and technicians to integrate electrical systems into complete electromechanical assemblies.
Participate in all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept and design to manufacturing, testing, and installation.
Requirements for the Controls Engineer include:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in electromechanical hardware and software design and development.
- Understanding of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell).
- Familiarity with electrical schematic design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Experience with electrical testing equipment and procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with component selection and sizing for electrical systems (e.g.relays, circuit breakers, wire sizing, power supply sizing).
- Knowledge of C programming
- Knowledge of best practices for industrial controls, working knowledge of NFPA/NEC code for electrical system design.
