Job Summary:
Caterpillar is seeking a Sr. Manager; Digital Product to lead the development of a Caterpillar Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) template for our Caterpillar Dealers. The Caterpillar ERP product will be built using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and aiming to improve dealer operations, enhance customer experience, and integrate modern digital capabilities.
The Caterpillar ERP template seeks to transform our operations by providing our Dealers with a modern ERP (if they so choose to adopt) that will drive operational efficiencies and effectiveness for their business.
What You Will Do:
The Sr. Manager; Digital Product is responsible for defining, delivering and managing the ongoing development of a Caterpillar ERP template. The role will own the product vision, create the product roadmap and manage the requirement generation to ensure delivery of the product.
The role will be responsible for hiring a team with the requisite product management skills to lead the configuration, customization and extension of the ERP modules for our business. In so doing, Sr. Product Manager will partner with current ERP users, technical leads, and vendors / suppliers to generate the requirements for the ERP template. The candidate will drive clear and requirements, oversee the development, and produce the go-to-market strategy for the ERP template.
This position is a blend of strategic and tactical responsibilities, requiring strong collaboration between multiple stakeholders to align on a product capability and possessing operational rigor with critical attention to detail to deliver a comprehensive ERP solution.

- Product Vision & Strategy: Define the long-term vision for the Caterpillar ERP template and develop a comprehensive product roadmap aligned with business objectives
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a team of 4-5 product managers specializing in Sales, Supply Chain, Service, Parts & Warranty, and Rental Management
- ERP System Ownership - Act as the lead product manager for the development of the Caterpillar ERP template (see modules listed below)
- Requirements Definition:
- Partner with Microsoft and our Systems Implementation Partner to define specific requirements for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP tailored for our industry.
- Collaborate with Caterpillar, Caterpillar Dealers, and business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document complex business requirements, translating them into actionable specifications
- Act as the Voice of the Dealer throughout the development process, ensuring the requirements from our stakeholders and end-users are incorporated in the ERP product
- Delivery and Execution:
- Oversee the ERP implementation to ensure it meets specifications and Caterpillar quality, security and usability standards.
- Conduct User Acceptance Training of the ERP with end-users throughout product lifecycle. Certify the ERP product (and capabilities) meets acceptance criteria, while prioritizing / remediating any issues through release cycles.
- Stakeholder Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Cat Digital leads, external vendors and Caterpillar Dealers
- Change Management - Work in conjunction with the Dealer Advisory Board to identify opportunities to improve Dealer processes, drive operational consistency through the ERP template and identify change management requirements for the Dealers
- User Training and Support - Collaborate with Training department to deliver user training programs, provide ongoing support and address user issues / enhancement requests

Software Product Business Knowledge:
- Drives functional enhancements and anticipates new opportunities and needs.
- Gathers feedback from current and potential users to prioritize product roadmap while monitoring competitive products.
- Plays a key role in analyzing and solving unusual and complex product configuration / customization requirements.
- Defines and communicates product strategy, vision and functional roadmap.
- Leads functional product planning effort; summarizes and communicates planned functionality.
- Is recognized as an expert on product functions, features and implementation issues.
Software Product Management:
- Has experience with ERP products or managing a critical product for business operations.
- Manages conflicts between business Dealers, and engineering teams.
- Participates in defining, estimating and pricing special enhancement requests.
- Gathers, summarizes and prioritizes capabilities for products, or new enhancements for existing products.
Considerations For Top Candidates:
- 10+ years of experience working with ERP systems, preferably Dynamics 365, including configuration, customization and integration.
- 7+ years of experience in Product Management and/or technical background to deliver enterprise-level platforms
- Preferable experience in working within B2B and B2B2C organizations and integration between enterprise Finance, Supply Chain and/or e-Commerce solutions
- Preferred ERP modules include but are not limited to Sales, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Field Service, Customer Insights, Customer Engagement, and Customer Service.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Apps and Microsoft Copilot Agents
- Proven experience in working with a modern, enterprise integration layer or integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS)
- Experience in Agile software development environment operating at scale managing multiple concurrent teams, SAFe Agile is a plus
- Strong leadership in working within a cross-functional organization to coordinate development, dependencies and risks for product delivery
- Experience in Dealer and / or Rental industry is a plus
Summary Pay Range:
$169,320.00 - $253,920.00
