NYS Office of Children & Family Services (OCFS) is seeking a Systems Developer Expert

Candidate will provide general system design, application programming, unit and integration testing of developed programs and documentation of those efforts. Programming tasks may include complete unit routines or functional routines that make up discrete parts of functional units. Programming will utilize structured COBOL.
  • Analysis, design and development of modifications for the WMS application using COBOL
  • Perform writing of database commands, procedures and subroutines on a Client mainframe
  • Analysis, design and development of both online and batch programs
  • Work in coordination with the intra agency teams and customers to support the application and interfaces.
  • Perform unit testing and coordination of UAT and resolve deficiencies for retest.
  • Analysis and resolution of production issues relating to the application or the database.

Requested Qualifications:
  • 84 months experience COBOL programming experience.
  • 60 months experience with Client DPS/TIP 2200 and UCS/ACSI Cobol.
  • 48 months experience with Client 2200 DMS (Cobol).
  • 48 months experience with Client OS 2200 EXEC/ECL.
  • 48 months experience in system analysis and design and speaking with customers to clarify requirements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science related field

Work hours and location:
  • Full time role with engagement length of 24 months
  • Daily work hours: 8:00AM- 5:00PM (1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
  • Physical office location: Empire State Plaza, Swan St, Core 3, Floor 2 Albany 12228
  • Telecommuting options: 50%
