The Opportunity

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER, SITE ASSESSMENT AND REMEDIATION

WSP's Environment group is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Site Assessment and Remediation team in the Southwest Ontario Business Unit, specifically the Windsor and Sarnia markets. This role will be an engineering consultant role, driving business and managing projects across Southwest Ontario.

What you will do at WSP
  • Provide excellent client management to existing and potential clients. Successfully develop new business through marketing initiatives and client management;
  • Prepare technical and financial proposals for both internal and external clients;
  • Effectively manage a multitude of projects, including maintaining tight budget controls;
  • Ensure high quality technical work, including field methodology, reporting, and client deliverables;
  • Collaborate with other disciplines within WSP with respect to multi-faceted/multi-disciplinary projects;
  • Foster an atmosphere of continuous improvement through on-the-job coaching and guidance;
  • Proactively commit to creating a positive work climate;
  • Demonstrate excellent inter-personal skills with good leadership and management abilities capable of communicating effectively with all parts of the business; and,
  • Comply with and uphold Health and Safety standards, practices, and procedures.

What you bring to WSP
  • Degree specializing in Environmental Science, Geosciences, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering or other related discipline;
  • Senior level of experience as a consultant in the industry with prior experience with Site Assessment and Remediation work including Excess Soils, Phase One and Two ESAs, risk assessment, remediation, Records of Site Condition, soil and groundwater management plans, and other due diligence investigations;
  • P.Eng/P.Geo and/or Qualified Person under Ontario Regulation 153/04 is preferred;
  • You are a passionate Environmental Engineer or Geoscientist (or similar) bringing an enthusiasm for business development, project management, and team leadership to our Southwest Ontario group, which covers regions including Windsor and Sarnia;
  • You demonstrate expertise and working knowledge in multiple fields of study and are confident to influence, guide and coordinate with various internal disciplines to ensure successful completion of a wide range of projects;
  • You have proven success in client relationship management and project management;
  • Knowledge of the local market is a strong asset;
  • Self-motivated, energetic and well organized;
  • Comfortable interacting with the public, clients, contractors, and co-workers;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible to work on a wide variety of projects, tasks, and assignments, responding easily to changing priorities;
  • Excellent English (verbal and written) communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, and to proactively respond to time-sensitive issues; and
  • Experience with industrial clients and advanced remediation technologies is an asset.
