Job Description

The Associate Director, Global Site Contracting (GSC) Program Management is responsible for providing direction, support, program/project management, oversight, and reporting to the GSC staff and leadership team, in relation to strategic initiatives that support the GSC organization. Managed initiatives may include process and continuous improvement, communications, metrics and dashboards, tracking and reporting of goals and objectives, organizational transformation, and ad hoc priorities supporting site contracting and budgeting, and other Clinical Development Operations (CDO) priorities. This role reports into Director II, Site Contracting Global Operations, and directly supports Sr. Director - GSC in ensuring key projects remain on time, on budget and tracking to success.
  • Centrally leads high priority/profile strategic initiatives for the organization;
  • Directly oversees program management governance which includes tracking, reporting, issue escalation, communication with management and stakeholders, and enables continuous process improvements.
  • Maintains subject matter expertise across stakeholder groups to provide input, guidance, oversight, and tracking/reporting of imperatives and projects.
  • Influences and strategically manages the linkages across GSC and partner areas, including R&D, Legal, Finance, Quality and OEC, to drive the successful implementation of R&D initiatives.
  • Independently manages expectations and mitigates risk by providing strategic solutions and decision making for the function.
  • Works with the GSC leadership team to establish and maintain key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Identifies and secures project resources/direct report staff, delegates responsibilities and authority on the basis of skills and effectiveness.

**This is an on-site position based in Lake County, IL or Irvine, CA

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification required; advanced degree or a health care, scientific, legal or business background preferred;
  • Broad experience (8+ years) within the pharmaceutical industry. Good knowledge and understanding of clinical research, including topics pertaining to contracting, site relations and internal project execution.
  • Experience leading cross-functional interactions and working within a global environment; Substantial previous project management experience preferred, including management of large complex programs and cross-functional teams
  • Requires excellent relationship management and communication skills, seasoned judgment, tact, and the ability to work effectively with personnel at varying levels within the organization;
  • Effective in driving process improvement initiatives
  • Must have extensive experience conceiving, creating, and delivering business presentations to senior management; strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills; strong organizational skills with a focus on details
  • Relevant experience in budget and financial management, contracts, process improvements, and/or compliance;
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships to effectively and independently provide leadership across the wider team, to strategically drive the business and solve issues efficiently and to mitigate risk.
