About The Team and Role:
eBay is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Segmentation Expert to join our Product Marketing organization. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust customer and market segmentation frameworks to inform product strategy, messaging, targeting, and overall go-to-market efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of segmentation methodologies, strong analytical skills, to support the PMM team translate data insights into actionable marketing strategies. You will collaborate closely with Product Marketers, Marketing Communications, and Analytics teams to drive more effective and personalized customer engagement.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$84,800 - $146,900
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

What you will accomplish:
- Develop and Refine Segmentation Frameworks: Assist the team in designing and implementing customer and market segmentation models based on a variety of data sources. Create actionable segments, outlining their characteristics, goals, challenges, and preferred communication channels.
- Measure and Track Product Marketing Impact: Define and measure key metrics to track the impact of product marketing and regularly analyze results to identify areas for optimization and improvement.
- Conduct In-depth Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets to identify meaningful customer segments, understand their needs, pain points, motivations, and buying behaviors. Utilize statistical tools and techniques to validate and refine segmentation models.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner closely with Product Marketers to inform product roadmap decisions and channel strategies based on segment needs and opportunities.
- Implement and Operationalize Segmentation: Work with relevant teams to integrate segmentation frameworks into marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and other tools to enable targeted campaigns and personalized experiences.
- Maintain Segmentation Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of segmentation methodologies, segment definitions, and persona details.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a role responsible for customer analytics, segmentation and measurement of impact, preferably within a product marketing organization.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful customer and market segmentation strategies that have driven measurable business results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must have strong command of SQL and Excel, and proficiency in statistical analysis tools and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Amplitude, Power BI).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
