Position Summary:
Your major goal as a network engineer is to build and maintain a strong and efficient network infrastructure, both wired and wireless. You will engage with other IT professionals to assess the organization's needs and implement solutions to ensure a safe and dependable network. Your duties will also include diagnosing network issues, upgrading hardware and software, and remaining current on industry trends to recommend changes.
Responsibilities:
Design and implementation of a network.
LANs, WANs, and other network topologies are designed and implemented.
Evaluating and selecting hardware and software solutions to satisfy the organization's needs.
Monitoring network performance and guaranteeing peak performance.
Routine maintenance and upgrades are performed to avoid downtime and security concerns.
Diagnosing and addressing network faults as soon as possible.
End-user technical assistance and collaboration with other IT teams to resolve issues.
Creating and updating extensive documentation on network setups, procedures, and troubleshooting procedures.
Working with other IT professionals, such as system administrators and security specialists, to maintain a cohesive IT environment.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related discipline is required.
5+ years of experience with large scale Cisco and/or Aruba LAN and WLAN infrastructure.
5+ years of experience working with layer 2 protocols (STP\PVST+\RPVSTP etc.).
5+ years of experience with 802.1x, 802.11 standards and RADIUS
3-5 years of experience working with BGP and OSPF in a large enterprise. Experience with VXLAN is a plus.
Ability to analyze data packet captures with Wireshark.
Knowledge of networking protocols and associated technology.
Extensive knowledge of network hardware (routers, switches, and firewalls) and software.
Relevant certifications (for example, CCNA, CCNP, ACSA, ACSP, CWNA CWNP).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills are required for efficient collaboration and user assistance.
This position requires occasional availability outside of regular business hours for equipment installation, firmware/software updates, and other maintenance tasks as required.
Must be willing to work weekends and evenings if necessary
This position could on occasion require bending, reaching, ascending, and descending stairs, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
Must have valid driver's license/ ability to travel to all campuses, when requested to do so.
