We're hiring a Mission Communications & Public Affairs Officer to lead strategic campaigns that elevate Intuitive Machines' space missions, engage national audiences, and support our government and commercial relationships. This cross-functional role blends public affairs strategy, mission storytelling, and media relations to ensure our work is recognized, trusted, and celebrated.
You will be the point person for planning and executing mission-centric campaigns while shaping public disclosure around the value of space technology, infrastructure, and services.

We're hiring a Mission Communications & Public Affairs Officer to lead strategic campaigns that elevate Intuitive Machines' space missions, engage national audiences, and support our government and commercial relationships. This cross-functional role blends public affairs strategy, mission storytelling, and media relations to ensure our work is recognized, trusted, and celebrated.
You will be the point person for planning and executing mission-centric campaigns while shaping public disclosure around the value of space technology, infrastructure, and services.
Responsibilities:
Mission Communications
- Serve as the lead communications strategist for assigned missions, owning the narrative from pre-launch to post-landing.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and executive teams to ensure accurate and compelling external communications.
- Develop mission media kits, timelines, video scripts, and integrated campaign content.
Public Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and implement public affairs campaigns that support strategic objectives with NASA, commercial customers, and mission vendors.
- Collaborate with government affairs to align messaging with regulatory, legislative, and funding priorities.
- Draft public statements, executive remarks, policy briefings, and op-eds tied to mission milestones.
Media Relations & Spokesperson Management
- Act as primary media contact for mission-related inquiries and briefings.
- Cultivate relationships with aerospace, national security, and science/tech journalists.
- Manage press events, interviews, and major announcements, including crisis or anomaly communications.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in aerospace, space technology, or a related sector with a focus on public affairs, media relations, and strategic communications.
- Or, 2+ years of experience in aerospace with one or more missions completed managing public affairs, media relations, and strategic communications.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute communications campaigns around high-profile technical or government programs.
- Strong understanding of the aerospace ecosystem, including NASA, key commercial stakeholders, and other government agencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating complex technical concepts into accessible public messaging.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineers, executives, and external partners in high-stakes environments.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
