Responsibilities
- Manages IT product management activities for simple to moderately sized solutions defining clear outcomes to address business needs
- Defines the product strategy considering market trends, customer needs, and business goals. Creates a comprehensive product roadmap defining the product epics and features. Crafts a clear vision for the product, aligning it with SCE and OU objectives. They articulate what success looks like and create a roadmap to achieve it.
- Responsible to help define the POC/MVP scope, schedule, cost (one-time / on-going total cost), and benefits (operational and financial) working w/ the OU, IT ETS, and DPT team. Identify customer needs by conducting research, gathering feedback, and understanding user pain points. They act as advocates for internal and external users throughout the product development process.
- Engages with all levels of management and acts as a key consultant for both functional and business issues. Incorporate customer feedback to enhance the product. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, business owners, IT partners and executives. Insures agreement for product's direction.
- Understands and represents user needs by conducting research, gathering feedback, and understanding user pain points. Advocates for internal and external users throughout the IT product development process.
- Balancing competing priorities, product managers decide which features to build, enhance, or prioritize. They consider user impact, business value, and technical feasibility.
- Engages in technical discussions with development teams, providing guidance on technology choices in order to engineer the product features and user stories provided by the Product Manager
- Leverages clean data practices and employ technology advancements in the AI and Emerging Tech space
- Leverages vendor and partner ecosystem to SCE's advantage for high impact/High value partnership opportunities at optimal costs
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Seven or more years of experience in project management.
- Experience as a product manager or product owner in software development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with multiple product/project teams in Mobile, AI/ML, and/or Robotics Process Automation capabilities
- Hands-on experience leading and managing new product launches and feature rollouts, including setting clear launch goals, customer journey mapping, and go-to-market launch plans
- Proven experience tracking and measuring impact including return on hard/soft savings, investment, product growth, and customer satisfaction
- Product Manager Certification (PSPO, CSPO, PMMC)
- Software development background/experience
- Hands-on experience with agile technologies and tools (Jira, Rally, HP ALM Octane, Confluence, Aha)
- Experience managing executive-level relationships (Principal Manager and above)
- Ability to communicate product progress and opportunities to executive leadership, customers, stakeholders, and ETS portfolio and transition owners
- Identifying additional innovation solution opportunities for business development
- 1+ years of experience in the electric utility industry (Transmission & Distribution, System Planning and Engineering, Customer Service)
Additional Information
- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
