Must-Have: Familiarity with total joints and C-sections; experience with MAKO robot is a plus
Description:
Department: Operating Room (Tech)
Certifications are required: BLS and ND UAP - CST or NCCT preferred.
The facility does not recognize military as an education source and does not supersede state requirements.
There will be no clinical involvement.
Fit testing and facial hair policy: If a clinician has facial hair, they must pass the Primary or Secondary fit test (3M Aura 1860 sm or reg/3M 1870+).
If unable to pass, a Portacount test will be required, which cannot be completed on clinicians with facial hair.
PAPR cannot be completed on site due to failing because of facial hair; the contract will be canceled if facial hair cannot be removed.
The operating room has 6 ORs and 1 GI suite.
Common cases include adult, pediatrics, geriatrics, obstetrics, orthopedic surgeries such as total joints, ORIF, and arthroscopy.
OB/GYN cases include Cesarean sections, LAVH, D&C, and diagnostic laparoscopy.
General cases consist of laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and exploratory laparotomy.
Experience with C-arm, Mako robot, Ligasure, and harmonic scalpel is preferred.
The facility does not have a manager or charge nurse on each shift, and the charge nurse does not take an assignment.
Shifts and scheduling: 9-hour shifts M-Th 0700-1630 or 0600-1530 with team/self-scheduling.
Weeknight call requirements involve 1-2 call shifts per week, based on need.
Weekend requirements include 1 weekend per month from Friday 0700 to Monday 0700.
Holiday on-call requirements apply.
Typically, staff do not float unless prior training in other areas has been completed.
Scrub color and dress code are provided.
Orientation consists of 1-2 shifts of unit/department-specific training.
Radius rule: Candidates must reside within 50 miles.
Requests for time off must be made upfront (7 or fewer days per 13-week contract).
Additional requests for time off will not be approved after submissions.
The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
Charting system used: Meditech.
A BSN is not required.
Trauma Level: CAH.
Care setting: Acute.
Division: Allied.
