We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Ft. Lauderdale. This person will support a variety of government projects, including pump stations, treatment plants, and the plumbing, HVAC, and piping for various types of municipal buildings.
Responsibilities
Working in the office full time, performing design and engineering work. The company culture is very casual and informal, hiring great people and giving them the freedom they need to complete their job while providing any necessary support. They are flexible with hours for production positions. We have been in South Florida since 2007 and have a strong backlog of work in South Florida, as well as work in other locations that can be supported remotely. The Ft. Lauderdale office currently has 6 employees.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $62.50/hr.

Job Description
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Ft. Lauderdale. This person will support a variety of government projects, including pump stations, treatment plants, and the plumbing, HVAC, and piping for various types of municipal buildings.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual expertise and technical supervision for the design and production of mechanical process piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems for Water/Wastewater facilities using recognized industry standards and specifications.
- Perform system calculations and studies for piping, plumbing, and HVAC systems - layout, sizing, head loss, etc., using analytical software.
- Mentor and develop staff.
- Oversee site investigations and inspections and provide suggestions for projects to ensure that standards and requirements are met.
- Ensure the accuracy and QA/QC of technical documents such as drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Communicate directly with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and designers.
- Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments/projects.
- Seek out new clients and projects to pursue and assist with the marketing efforts of these projects.
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- PE License in State of Florida
- Minimum 10 years of HVAC, plumbing, and piping system design experience on large industrial or similar facilities
- Working knowledge of standards and codes pertaining to mechanical & plumbing systems
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel software
- Effective communication skills - verbal and writing with supervisors, colleagues, and clients
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with mentoring and developing staff
- Experience with site investigations and inspections
- Experience with client and regulatory agency communications
- Experience with project meeting participation and presentation
