U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Lead Software Engineer - front-end and back-end applications (Multiple openings) in Houston, Texas.
The Lead Software Engineer - front-end and back-end applications is responsible for designing, developing and enhancing large-scale customer facing enterprise Java/Web applications per technical and functional requirements gathered from product and business lines. This role develops front-end and back-end applications using Java, Spring Boot, JSP, HTML and JavaScript. Specific duties include: (1) prepare high level/low level design documents with functional designs, data management, reporting and implement API & Microservices architecture for a U.S. Bank specifics Credit Card APIs which are run as per boldstroke standards; (2) develop code using Java, Spring Boot and GraphQL and build APIs using Microservices architecture; (3) conduct design walk-through and code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures, within core skills in Java with webflux, spring boot and graphql as per the US Bank security standards for Card Servicing platform; (4) handle analysis, development, and testing phases (System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing and Friendly User Testing) of projects to meet boldstroke code quality in backend and micro app/host app standard components; (5) build Test unit test automation suites for API testing using Junit and Selenium unit testing frameworks; (6) take full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code for cloud native applications with good knowledge of UI development using React JS; (7) collaborate with Dev, Middleware (ICS and Hogan) and end users to better understand the workflow and implement requirements efficiently; (8) utilize Fortify, Blackduck and SonarQube for secure coding; and (9) work with the following tools and technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Agile methodologies, Git, SDLC, Cl/CD, Jenkins, Maven.
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering or Computer Engineering and 4 years of experience developing front-end and back-end applications using Java, Spring Boot, JSP, HTML and Javascript. In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering or Computer Engineering and 6 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience developing front-end and back-end applications using Java, Spring Boot, JSP, HTML and JavaScript.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have 48 months of experience with each of the following: (1) develop code using Java, Spring Boot and GraphQL; (2) build APIs using Microservices architecture; (3) utilize Fortify, Blackduck and SonarQube for secure coding; (4) Junit and Selenium unit testing frameworks; and (5) working with the following tools and technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Agile methodologies, Git, SDLC, Cl/CD, Jenkins, Maven. Will accept experience gained before, during or after Master's program. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.
