New Haven Harbor Station is a 4-unit, 598-MW power generation facility featuring one oil and natural gas-fired steam generator and three GE LM6000 combustion turbines. We're seeking a Senior Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations, ensure plant performance and compliance, and oversee start-up, shutdown, and maintenance activities. This is a shift-work leadership role with responsibility for plant personnel and performance, including serving as Incident Commander during emergencies and acting as site authority when management is absent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise plant operations staff (bargaining unit associates).
- Ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and efficient plant operations.
- Oversee daily and outage-related work to maintain unit availability.
- Coordinate generating unit operations with external entities and grid operators.
- Maintain open communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Enforce corporate policies and operating procedures.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to direct reports.
- Support maintenance activities as needed.
- Act as Incident Commander during plant emergencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or technical degree preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in power generation or industrial facility operations.
- Minimum 5 years as a qualified control room operator.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory and environmental requirements.
- Experience with work management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 5 years in a supervisory or lead operator role.
- Experience with Emerson Ovation control systems.
- Familiarity with GE steam generator and turbine systems.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis (RCA).
- Ability to interpret and explain control logic.
- Exposure to operational excellence initiatives.
- Familiarity with accounting, purchasing, and work management software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders and stairways (three-point contact).
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
- Capable of walking/standing for long periods.
- Comfortable working in extreme weather and high altitudes.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work extended hours and rotating shifts, including weekends.
