The leader of the Emerging Channel Insights - Trade Team will play an important role in AbbVie's Market Analytics and Business Insights Team supporting the evolving Market Access organization. The Emerging Channel Insights - Trade team will be focused on:
  • Providing insights and analytics into Trade & Distribution strategy, design & performance, respective Return on Investment.
  • Engagement strategies with emerging/ alternative distribution approaches and economic decision, and
  • Understanding impacts of Private/Govt. healthcare policies and emerging portfolio-wide events/ issues in the Market Access landscape (i.e. growing 340B, Accumulator/ Maximizer, etc...) across multiple therapeutic and customer segments.

  • This individual will closely collaborate with internal Market Access Marketing stakeholders from Pharmacy/Trade, Health Systems/Employers, Field Based Account Executives within the Trade and Hospital Systems teams; and leaders within AbbVie Patient Services, MABI, Brand Marketing, Finance, Pricing, and HEOR. The remit of the individual will be to influence strategy development through insights and evaluate performance of the Trade related contracts, program recommendation, and measure financial impact on AbbVie's portfolio. With a focus on these Emerging Stakeholders, this role will help to inform and influence AbbVie U.S. Commercial toward having the appropriate strategies and capabilities in place for our current products, as well as future pipeline products.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead a team that provides standard/ad-hoc analytics, primary and secondary market research across all inline AbbVie US Commercial brands (Retail/ Specialty, Medical/ Pharmacy Benefits; across life cycle) focused on providing insights that influence market access strategy through data analytics, customer insights and business knowledge.

    Key areas of functional scope include:
    • Provide analytical leadership to the development and execution of standardized performance measures and meaningful/ongoing evaluation, and support Trade Business Review initiatives.
    • Address the impact of high urgency, Above Brand issues and/or initiatives such as change in policies and impact on Market access stakeholders (Specifically Trade & Distribution) that require a high level of experience, project management and organizational influencing skills.
    • Leading a team responsible for:
    • Evaluating the value of Pharmacy networks, Fee For Service (FFS) contracts for marketing and analyzing impact.
    • Informing financial projections by leading cross-functional meetings on FFS/ Adherence programs, Conversion tactics.
    • Conducting primary research to understand stakeholder needs such as Trade & Distribution landscape and network design.
    • Leading the creative process for developing Pharmacy networks, Alternative distribution methods, go-to-market strategies for launch brands as well as new approaches for in-line brands through advanced modelling/ research techniques.
    • Providing analytics & insights support for Population Health Team.
    • Build solid relationships and become a trusted advisor to leadership, guiding brand strategies and tactics based on superior, objective insights, have an ability to influence discussions with MABI colleagues, market access customers, and leadership.
    • Talent Management:Recruit, develop and manage2- 4 direct/ indirect reports, and budget oversight associated with external vendor support.
    • This role requires operation within our hybrid model (3 days in office). We are only considering talent located within the following location(s): Mettawa, IL.


    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Market Research, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Decision Sciences, Operations Research, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field of study required; MBA preferred.
    • 15+ years of experience in market analytics, and field sales support in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
    • 5+ years of experience in market access with significant subject matter expertise with health plans, PBMs, Hospital Systems, Specialty Pharmacies and Healthcare Policy.
    • 5+ years of people management experience.
    • Requires the ability to work in a matrixed environment while demonstrating and aligning to AbbVie's ways of working.
    • Strong business and financial acumen , strong knowledge of channel dynamics/healthcare policy changes and possesses the ability to translate this understanding into actionable strategies using advanced analytics methods.
    • Robust understanding of pharmacy channel stakeholder economics, including Payers, Pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs). Working knowledge of medical benefit products economics such as ASP pricing, physician reimbursement and interplay between Pharmacy and Medical contracting.
    • Experience managing and analyzing patient claims data (e.g. IQVIA LAAD, Symphony Health data) for Pharmacy channel products, other pharmaceutical syndicated data sources. Working knowledge of Tableau-based visualization tools to extract/ analyze data and communicate a story through insights while demonstrating a strong understanding of data science and modeling techniques.
    • Ability to develop insights and communicate complex information synthesized into concise and impactful messages to effectively influence executive level decisions.
