About Smart Infrastructure - Electrification and Automation:

The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of todays and tomorrow's power grid!

We are looking for a Solutions Program Manager. This position will be based at Wendell, NC.

As a Solution Program Manager for Solution Integration Engineering, you play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between technology and business. Your responsibilities encompass technical expertise, and coordination with department team members.

You'll make an impact by:
  • Project Management:
    • Manages Integration Engineering Projects with responsibility for successful execution.
    • Executes projects within the defined requirements (e.g. budget, time, functionality)
    • Ensures business success and satisfaction of the customer and ensures professional stakeholder management.
    • Ensures timely decisions on open issues, escalating if necessary.
    • Manages a network of technical specialists to realize customer expectations.
    • Coordinates the Engineering disciplines and the cooperation with involved Engineering units, including their interfaces.
    • Performs technical risk management.
    • Acts as interface to PM@Siemens, e.g. responsible for technical risks and opportunities.
  • Solution Design:
    • Responsible for driving the development of new solutions for customers, taking lessons learned as well as customer requests in mind.
    • Recognize new solutions to minimize manufacturing risks, allowing for more reliable project execution.
    • Prospect needs to understand prefabricated building/platforms design and manufacturing process.
    • Drive initiatives for new product and solution design for customers.
    • Review of customer specifications, commercial/technical documents, and product requirements for key customer projects
    • Integration of equipment in new and existing infrastructure
    • Work within teams and different product groups, internal and external
    • Support process improvements, visibility, transparency, and accuracy wherever possible.
    • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and adding new skills
    • Provide engineering and equipment subcontractor oversight, in close partnership with the Solution engineer overall Project Manager
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure solutions meet quality standards, scalability, and performance requirements. Work with Qmip team to develop and maintain quality documentation and processes.
  • Emerging Technologies:
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and evaluate their impact on designs.
  • Customer Engagement:
    • Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with sales and offer teams during pre-sales activities, including solution presentations and technical discussions.
    • Post-Sales: Ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Executive Reporting: Provide updates to senior management on solution engineering initiatives, progress, and challenges.
    • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to solution delivery.
    • Coordination of Information: Lead Design Development Meetings with all stakeholders, e.g. PM, Sol Eng, Sol Architect, BD. Ensure Lessons Learned from previous projects are incorporated into newly developed solutions.

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or higher.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role, which may include, mechanical design, installation in a manufacturing setting.
    • Experience with fabrication of electrical equipment buildings and unit substations base framing
    • Experience managing integration projects within an electrical enclosure fabrication facility (i.e. e-house, PDC, etc.)
    • Familiarity with R&D and product development processes
    • Experience with MV and LV testing protocols
  • Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
  • SieOps (salesforce); Autodesk suite, Revit or similar, Microsoft Office, MS Teams, MS Project
  • Ability to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and market trends. Knowledge of NEC, IBC, IFC, IECC codes and application of LV and MV systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of State requirements for Modular Enclosures
  • PM certification

  • The pay range for this position is $100,450 - $172,200 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
