.NET Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled .NET Modernization Developer to join our team in a key role focused on migrating legacy VB.NET applications to modern C# implementations. This role will involve hands-on development, refactoring, and ensuring clean, maintainable code within a modern software architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in .NET development, be familiar with relational databases, and have an understanding of modernization best practices and Visual Studio tools.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and participate in the migration of legacy VB.NET codebases to C#.
• Refactor and modernize existing code for performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with team leads to assign user stories and development tasks.
• Migrate stored procedures and related database logic into the .NET codebase.
• Develop and maintain .NET applications using best practices and standards.
• Participate in planning, estimation, code reviews, and documentation.
• Work across modernization projects that improve application performance and maintainability.
• Ensure seamless integration with relational databases.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of experience with .NET development
• Strong proficiency in C# and VB.NET
• Hands-on experience with Visual Studio
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Experience with code refactoring, codebase migration, and modernization techniques
• Ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Java (for potential integration or future project flexibility)
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices
• Experience with performance tuning and code optimization

Certifications:

Microsoft Certified: .NET Developer (Preferred, not required)

Education: Bachelors Degree
