Total Wine & More is seeking a Benefits Manager to join our Human Resources team in our Bethesda, MD office. This role will support the administration of our employee benefits programs while supporting compensation initiatives. This role ensures our benefits offerings are competitive, compliant, and aligned with our overall Total Rewards strategy. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in health and wellness plans, and vendor management, along with a strong understanding of compensation principles. They will also stay informed of industry changes and new developments to help the business keep up with best practice standards. You will report to the Senior Manager, Benefits.

You will
  • Manage and optimize employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA/HSA, and wellness initiatives.
  • Partner with HR and internal stakeholders to support employee wellbeing and retention strategies.
  • Help to prepare and submit required filings (e.g. 5500s, nondiscrimination testing)
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and providers and ensure procedures are followed to minimize cost.
  • Create and deliver clear, engaging communications on benefit offerings and changes.
  • Works on projects as assigned, relying on regulatory knowledge and understanding of compliance related documents and annual filings.
  • Partner with HR and internal stakeholders to support employee wellbeing and retention strategies.

You will come with
  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • 5-8 years Benefits administration preferred
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and with open enrollment processes.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Prior experience in a mid-size to large organization with multi-state operations. (Medium proficiency)
  • Experience in administering incentive programs and equity plans a plus.

Total Wine & More considers several factors when establishing compensation. Estimated salaries determined by third parties have not been validated by Total Wine & More. The exempt compensation range for this position is $71,700 - $171,000. Compensation may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills and/or experience.
