Power Pre-scheduler Administrator
Salary Grade: G06

$78,537 - $106,024 - $133,511
SUMMARY:
This position is an integral part of the Wholesale Power Marketing Team, supporting technical and administrative requirements of long and short term prescheduled purchase and sale activities. Coordinate and verify all physical prescheduled power trades with utilities, marketers, and control area counterparts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gathers, assimilates and verifies Power Prescheduler trade activities at Palo Verde, San Juan, Four Corners 345, Westwing, West Mesa, Blackwater, Mead and Mid-C.
Administers transmission Palo Verde to Westwing to Mead ensuring transmission allocation is not exceeded.
Determines whether positions are going to physically flow or financially book out.
If positions are going to physically flow, accurately and completely records pathing information and provides to counter parties.
Prepares and verifies electronic tags as defined by the North American Electric Reliability council.
Records, accurately and completely, all daily and monthly paths (physically flowing and financially booking out) into system.
Records, accurately and completely, all daily and monthly sales and purchases into Energy Accounting and Scheduling Expert.
Ensures total purchases and total sales in Energy Accounting and Scheduling Expert balance with total purchases and total sales in Microsoft Access.
Ensures that actual Palo Verde energy deliveries balance with Palo Verde energy scheduled to PNM.
Performs daily control area checkouts to confirm all net deliveries and purchases.
COMPETENCIES:
Knowledge of the interconnected Bulk Power generation and transmission network and the operational aspects of the network.
Knowledge of NERC, WECC and SRSG scheduling practices and standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with five to seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safely rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Internet, Microsoft Access, etc.) and Energy Management System.
ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit up to 2/3 of the time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
