Description:

Reporting to the VP, Land & Land Administration, the Corporate Landman will be responsible for the maintenance and reporting of land-related activity related to Magnolia assets. This position requires you to perform at a high-level working both independently and collaboratively within the Land team and other disciplines across the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor costs associated with yearly development program, leasing prospects, and due diligence projects for various reporting including but not limited to budget variance, unproved property, etc.
  • Collaborate with land team and external resources for managing leasing prospect activities, including but not limited to lease terms, renewals, extensions.
  • Monitor monthly leasing prospect activities for various reporting including but not limited to quarterly acreage reporting, changes to unproved/proved acreage, lease critical dates, monthly obligations, etc.
  • Monitor changes to Magnolia ownership due to acquisitions, divestitures, payouts, and verified title for quarterly reserves reporting.
  • Manage Magnolia ownership reviews conducted for the mid-year and year-end reserve cycle.
  • Review and prepare mortgage supplemental files for company RBL biannual process, including supporting third party title reviews.
  • Review monthly land calendar for payment and lease obligation recommendations.
  • Support due diligence projects and asset integrations as needed.
  • Take proactive measures to resolve ownership discrepancies discovered in day-to-day activities.
  • Responsible for supporting and developing relationships with internal cross-functional teams, including accounting, land administration, treasury, and corporate reserves, as needed for managing rights and/or obligations from ownership of leasehold and mineral interests.
  • Utilize innovate tools to support company efforts for streamlining processes and improving land maintenance and reporting.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferred area of study in Finance, Accounting, or Business Analytics.
  • Minimum of 7+ years' experience as an oil & gas company Landman, required.
  • Direct land experience in and knowledge of Texas land, required.
  • CPL Certification, required.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of corporate reporting as it applies to the oil and gas industry, required.
  • Member of AAPL, preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with P2Land and LandVantage, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • System savvy and ability to work with different applications and databases.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrates ability to use design to make a report's purpose clear and reinforced.
  • Proven understanding of the way land's day-to-day activities and decisions affect other company disciplines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced organization being adaptable to competing demands.
  • Proven ability to build respect, dependability, and rapport with a Land team.
