Description:

We are seeking an attorney to work with our Dallas office and join the firm's dynamic and long-established practice of representing some of the country's largest employers. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney with 4-6 years of litigation experience to grow their practice in a collaborative and supportive environment while assuming a significant role in all aspects of labor and employment litigation. This role provides attorneys with autonomy to have extensive contact with clients, courts, governmental agencies, and opposing counsel. While some prior employment law experience is strongly preferred, it is not required.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the law and experience in handling various aspects of civil litigation, including drafting and responding to discovery, drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, participating in arbitrations, attending court conferences, leading mediations, and counseling clients on labor and employment law matters. Significant litigation experience is a plus including day-to-day responsibility on cases. We are looking for individuals eager to develop their skills in employment law, guided by experienced mentors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Litigate and defend a diverse range of labor and employment-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, restrictive covenant violations, wage and hour disputes, and agency charges.
Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
Take and defend depositions, and prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Provide strategic advice and counsel on employment law issues.
Collaborate with senior attorneys to deliver top-tier legal services to our clients.

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • At least 4 years of civil litigation experience; employment law experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a desire to work both independently and within a team.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
