The expected annual salary range for this role is $108749.97 - $159499.96 a year.

What you'll do:

Eaton's Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Specialist, Corporate Acquisition and Divestiture Accounting to join our team. This position is based at our North American HQ in Beachwood, OH with hybrid work available.
Position Overview:
The primary function of this role is to lead and support analysis associated with the accounting and financial due diligence of acquisitions and divestitures globally. This role will also play a crucial part in financial reporting for acquisitions and divestitures, integration support, and accounting for formal restructuring programs. This position also collaborates with the business finance team on unique and complex transactions.
Job Responsibilities:
Advise the operations on acquisition accounting and appropriate purchase price accounting adjustments
Work closely with third party valuation firms and the acquired operations to support the fixed asset and intangible valuation process for acquired businesses
Reconcile, review and analyze appraised fixed asset and intangible values to obtain management approval and ensure correct values are loaded in Eaton's financial systems
Collect, analyze and organize documentation required to support purchase accounting adjustments and work with the acquired operations to record them
Manage goodwill, intangibles and other accounts of acquired businesses and prepare management reporting
Provide accounting insight and analysis related to divested businesses and assist in the preparation and recording of entries required to recognize the proper gain/loss on sale
Liaison with external and internal auditors to explain acquisition accounting and provide detailed supporting documentation
Assist with ongoing accounting and impairment testing related to acquired businesses
Support and perform buy-side due diligence over acquisitions and strategic investment targets, with a focus on quality of earnings, net working capital and debt considerations, forecast, financial analysis, and financial reporting considerations.
Liaise with third party diligence firms conducting diligence on acquisition targets (when diligence has been outsourced for larger projects).
Support sell-side financial due diligence efforts as needed.
Communicate key diligence findings to Corporate Development & Planning and Legal teams.
Assist with research and interpretation of U.S. GAAP and Eaton financial policies on accounting matters applicable to acquisition and divestiture activities.
Assist business integration teams with the execution of finance integration activities.
Support closing balance sheet review and purchase price settlement process.
Lead and support accounting for multi-year restructuring program to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
Minimum four (4) years of Accounting / Finance Experience required.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beachwood, OH will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
Preferred qualifications:
Prior deals and due diligence experience
Master's Degree from an accredited institution
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a plus.
