The AWS Finance team provides end-to-end financial support for this multi-billion dollar business, driving AWS to be the low cost provider in cloud computing and the leader in customer experience. We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the development and implementation of a standard costing system within our SAP environment for our server and rack manufacturing operations. This role will work closely with external consultants to ensure successful system design and deployment.

Key job responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive standard costing system in SAP
Partner with SAP consultants to configure and optimize the system according to business requirements
Define standard cost components including labor, material, and overhead calculations
Establish cost centers, activity rates, and variance analysis methodologies
Create and document standard operating procedures for cost accounting processes
Train and support end users on new systems and procedures
Develop variance reporting and analysis frameworks
Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Finance, and IT teams throughout implementation
Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

- Knowledge of SQL/ETL

- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

- MBA, or CPA

- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
