Key Responsibilities:
  • Provision of comprehensive primary care services for all ages in a primary medical care clinic setting.
  • Provide care consistent with evidence-based medicine.
  • Perform minor outpatient procedures in accordance with the scope of practice and privileging policy.
  • Provide consultation to other clinic providers either in person or by telephone.
  • Consult with clinic physicians, specialists, or other health care professionals as appropriate.
  • Assess patient needs for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals.
  • Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit.
  • Verify and document that the patient understands diagnosis, treatment and follow-up recommendations as required by uniform data system, meaningful use and patient centered medical home standards.
  • Dispense medications in accordance with State of Mississippi Pharmacy Board policies.
  • Participate in a shared call system with other providers.
  • Assist with meeting clinic patient care team productivity and quality care standards.
  • Participate in development and utilization of practice guidelines and procedures.
  • Participate in audits, and meet standards of Quality Improvement, Risk Management and Utilization Management programs.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in patient records and encounters within 24-48 hours after the patient visit.
  • Maintenance of credentials essential for practice, including licensure, certification and CME.
  • Demonstrate respectful, professional and appropriate behavior that supports a team-oriented work environment.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, core values and goals of Mallory CHC and its healthcare delivery within our programs and services.
  • Participate in the health promotion/disease prevention activities required by the U.S. Public Health Services.
  • Attend all medical staff meetings and participate in the Community Health Center's Quality Assurance Program.
  • Perform other necessary duties as required by the Community Health Center to meet the goals of providing primary health care.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathy
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice (Obstetrics/Gynecology)

Certifications/Licenses:
  • Physician license (MD/DO) with the State of Mississippi
  • Board eligible/Board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Active DEA controlled substances registration
  • Hospital privileges - must be obtained within 60 days of employment
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED) certification
  • Successful completion of Mallory CHC's credentialing and privileging review upon hire and re-credentialing as appropriate

Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, explaining complex medical information in an easy-to-understand manner while ensuring comfort and building trust.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
  • Empathy and professionalism when working with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Proficient in the use of medical equipment and technologies relevant to OB/GYN procedures, including ultrasound, fetal monitoring, and laparoscopic tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess patient conditions, diagnose issues accurately, and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Ability to manage complex cases, including high-risk pregnancies and complicated gynecological conditions.
  • Quick thinking in emergency situations, providing solutions while maintaining a calm and focused approach.
  • Skilled in using EHR systems for accurate documentation, patient tracking, and information sharing within the healthcare team.
