Division of Pediatric Rheumatology
The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine seeks a clinician-scientist interested in translational and clinical research in pediatric scleroderma for a tenure-track Professor position. Applicants must have an MD or MD-PhD degree and be ACGME Board-certified or eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Rheumatology with Special Competence in the management of children with scleroderma. Applicants must have demonstrated academic progress and contributions through publications and grants in pediatric scleroderma. Applicants must have a track record of leading national and international translational and clinical studies in pediatric scleroderma and leading large collaborative pediatric scleroderma databases and biorepositories. The applicant also must have expertise in overseeing autologous stem cell transplant programs in pediatric scleroderma. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Teaching responsibilities may include medical students, M.D. fellows, Ph.D. level graduate students, and post-doctoral Ph.D. fellows.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated success with publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and funding from NIH and other federal or non-federal funding agencies. The selected candidate will interact and collaborate with investigators in the Department of Pediatrics and Department of Medicine, as well as with the larger academic and scientific community across the University of Pittsburgh campus. The ideal candidate will have the ability to productively collaborate with clinicians in multiple specialties to foster translational research in their area of expertise.
The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology has a robust clinical and research program that includes laboratory space in the Rangos Research Building on the Children's Hospital Campus and full access to the research computing facilities available at the University of Pittsburgh. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh ranks among the top 10 free-standing children's hospitals in total and NIH-sponsored research funding. The Rangos Research Building stands minutes away from the downtown cultural district, home to stadiums for three major sports teams, an internationally recognized culinary scene, and renowned centers of higher learning in the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie-Mellon University.
