JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager is a key role within the finance team, having responsibility for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting requirements of the company.
Primary accountability of the finance operations (accounts payable and receivables), accounting, and tax requirements; financial reporting; and entity/country specific reporting requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Accounting Manager is a key role within the finance team, having responsibility for the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting requirements of the company.
Primary accountability of the finance operations (accounts payable and receivables), accounting, and tax requirements; financial reporting; and entity/country specific reporting requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Supervise and manage accounting operations while ensuring compliance with tax standards and current regulations for 11 entities globally.
- Manage the month-end process from reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations through to preparing financial statements.
- Ownership of chart of accounts and financial reporting dimensions of the company.
- Prepare regular internal management reporting.
- Ad-hoc reporting as required.
Finance Operations
- Closely manage accounts payable function including preparing weekly payment run for approval, working with team members to ensure timely posting of payments.
- Ensuring vendor issues and queries are followed up and resolved by finance team members.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging for all entities, escalating at risk balances to senior management as needed.
- Utilizing system to issue payment reminders to overdue accounts.
- Other finance and administrative duties as required.
Taxation
- Preparation of tax related financial schedules for preparation of Canadian tax returns.
- Work with third party providers to coordinate and complete timely filing of tax returns across international entities.
- Ensure the timely preparation and filing of HST/VAT and all other multijurisdictional/global statutory obligations.
Audit and compliance
- Support the year-end review process.
- Liaise with and prepare supporting year-end working papers, providing accurate financial information to the external auditors.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in professional service-related companies is highly desirable
- Strong technical accounting experience
- 3+ years of experience within mid- to-large organizations
- Holds a CPA designation is considered a strong asset
- Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Must be able to communicate financial information in sound business language so people of all levels can understand.
- Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
- A detail oriented and proactive self-starter, with a strong commitment to excellence
- A team player who can work successfully with multi-functional teams
- Demonstrated competence and maturity
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work additional hours as needed.
- Hybrid work arrangement, required in office attendance at least twice a week.
- Temporary contract position for a period of 12 months beginning in May 2025, covering maternity leave. While this is a temporary contract, there may be opportunities for extension or permanent role within the company.
