Latin School of Chicago seeks a creative and innovative Upper School Mathematics Teacher who is passionate about mathematics and connecting with and supporting students. Strong candidates will be well-versed in mathematical content Algebra 1 - Calculus, and have a demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Teach 4 classes per semester
- Serve as advisor to 8-10 students
- Attend department meetings, division meetings, and all-school faculty/staff meetings
- Develop and lead an experiential learning Project Week (second week of March)
- Work closely with department members, department chair, and division director to design lesson plans and curriculum that is aligned and responsive to student needs
- Write written narratives two times per year
- Cultivate an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
- Attend and supervise students during assemblies, gatherings, and other school functions
Additional Opportunities:

- Sponsoring student independent study projects or senior projects
- Participating in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and other professional development opportunities
Compensation:
- Salary is $64,622 - $114,967 annually, based on education level and years of experience as outlined in ourFaculty Scale.

Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required
- 3+ years teaching experience at the high school level
- Ability to teach a variety of courses (Algebra 1 - Calculus) or electives
- Commitment to inclusivity, collaboration, and professionalism.
- Critical thinking and reflection skills to assess and improve existing processes
- Strong communication skills, including spoken and written communication
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
- Comfort integrating technology into the classroom and in lessons
- Curating materials in a Course Management System.
- An enthusiasm for spending time with students in and outside of the classroom
