The University of Kentucky is pleased to announce a search for a strategic and visionary leader to serve as the Executive Director of the UK Counseling Center within the Office of Student Success (OSS). The OSS will, from the time of early college outreach to graduation and beyond, support students in living a life of meaning and purpose. From a student-centered framework, our practice will be grounded in peer-reviewed literature, national best practices, and data-informed decision making. Collaborating with the campus and community, Student Success will work through a holistic lens to support a community of learners in achieving success.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Well-Being, the Executive Director will serve as the leader of the university's central unit for individual and group counseling services focused on supporting student growth and assisting with student mental health. The Executive Director will collaboratively build essential services for students as part of a broader Student Well-Being portfolio. This role will work closely with many campus entities, including all units within the Student Well-Being area of Student Success. Specifically, the Executive Director must engage with intention and commitment with TRACS, a unit focused on triage and referral for students in crisis, and the Director of Prevention, Outreach, and Wellness Education Resources (POWER), a unit focused on health education, outreach, and prevention efforts.
As part of a larger team, the Executive Director will also contribute to ongoing campus dialogues that promote student success, particularly in the areas of health and well-being. The ideal candidate should have the ability to build and maintain a vision as well as be a flexible team player with a drive to innovate.
Additionally, this role will oversee the daily operations of the counseling center with significant duties related to strategic vision setting and management of budgets and operations. This role supervises a team of clinicians and administrative support staff.
