JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments, and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Under general supervision, a Computer Scientist II provides software and systems engineering services, primarily in support of flight test data reduction tools and applications. The role typically functions within an integrated team consisting of government and JT4 personnel.
Primary Responsibilities:
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in an associated discipline and either 2 years of related experience or a master's degree in an associated discipline are required for this position.
In addition, a Computer Scientist II must possess the following qualifications:
The incumbent must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $122,00 to $145,000 annually.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide software development and implementation support for test data processing applications.
- Interpret customer requirements and advise project managers on technical approaches and problem-solving strategies.
- Design, code, document, and test software systems; participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
- Develop flowcharts, diagrams, and documentation to support design and implementation.
- Perform and support unit, integration, and system-level testing.
- Conduct data analysis, build data tools, and assist engineers in validating and troubleshooting data issues.
- Train engineers and data staff in the use of developed tools and processes.
- Assist in the maintenance and sustainment of legacy and modernized systems.
- Proficient in the following programming languages: Python, C++, Java, C#.
- Understanding of aircraft data formats and systems including ICDs, DAR v3, MIL-STD-1553, Ch. 10, Ch. 8, and Ch. 4.
- Experience developing software applications and performing data validation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

- Programming skills in languages used for job-specific programming tasks
- Familiarity with the application of industry standard hardware and software design and documentation techniques
- Familiarity with systems engineering and software development lifecycles
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Good planning/organizational skills
- Ability to work under deadlines
