Job Description

The Director, Strategic Accounts - Single-Family is responsible for ensuring the successful achievement of sales, profit and market share objectives utilizing the entire Fortune Brands Outdoors Portfolio.

YOUR ROLE:
  • Provide leadership and guidance directly to Strategic Account Managers.
  • Ensure that the Strategic Account Managers execute on existing agreements to include retention and adjacent category attachment, conversion of opportunity accounts to FBOD, and develop/drive new initiatives and processes to ensure top line growth.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers at the senior level, plan field travel accordingly.
  • Collaborate with peers and OD sales teams to ensure optimal sales execution at the regional level.
  • Work collaboratively with Channel Marketing and the Strategic Business Units (SBUs) to build selling strategy and plans related to commercialization of new products, product lifecycle management activity, promotions, programs, and channel initiatives.
  • Provide oversight and direction to Strategic Account Managers and Specification team in areas including customer contracts, product planning, pricing, forecasting and discontinuations.
  • Lead, coach, develop and recognize a team of enabled and empowered selling professionals. Manage the talent management process with an emphasis on building OD's broader talent for high sales performance and bench strength for leadership positions.
  • Ensure optimal market coverage for all accounts and modify as needed throughout the year.
  • Keep senior leadership informed of sales activities in the segments to ensure they are knowledgeable of relevant issues including business trends, distribution patterns, competitive practices, and product performance.
  • Define and help build internal processes, tools, training, for both the SAMs and the field sellers to unlock all of ODs potential in driving revenue in this segment.
  • Collaborate with CatMan, Channel. BI, Finance, Brand, E-Comm, Operations, Sales Enablement, HR, and legal in creating a holistic OD strategy for this segment.
  • Support Strat planning, AOP, MBR, QBR and SIP processes by providing insights, feedback, perspective, and updates on the segment.
  • Define and create business plan tools, reporting, sales tracking, that will metric progress in the segment.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of sales and/or management experience is required within the SF segment.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical ability coupled with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success and track record in delivering results in demanding market conditions.
  • Progressive career path with a proven track record of success in the SF segment
  • History of driving for results and instilling a sense of accountability with the team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a budget and use resources and programming to increase sales and ROI.
  • Must reside near a large airport.
  • Ability to travel 50%+ and work non-standard hours.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively support high-level customer interactions and internal collaboration.
  • Proven track record of growing sales and driving results.


Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $140,000 USD - $220,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
