We're seeking a Principal HR Specialist to architect our global workforce strategy during this pivotal time in AI development. You'll be at the forefront of solving unique workforce challenges in one of tech's most transformative fields. Your work will directly impact how we build and scale teams teaching next-generation AI models.
Key job responsibilities
Design and implement innovative workforce solutions that enable teaching of increasingly complex AI models
Drive strategic HR initiatives across talent management, organizational effectiveness, and workforce planning
Demonstrate ability to think big yet be nimble enough to continuously evolve the people strategy for the organization in line with the fast changing business realities.
Develop data-driven recommendations to anticipate and address future workforce needs
Be a partner at the table with the business leaders, leverage data and sound judgement to influence decisions and infuse new ways of thinking.
Provide insight and direction on evolving the right long term organization design.
Be flexible in terms of working with business and HR partners across multiple locations, drive healthy debate and consensus on key priorities.
Manage change at scale.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
8+ years in an HR generalist leadership role or workforce planning role, preferably in a tech or start-up environment
Proven ability to navigate complexity and drive clarity in ambiguous environments
Strong analytical skills with experience in strategic workforce planning
Excellence in stakeholder management and executive communication
Track record of developing innovative HR solutions in fast-paced environments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree or MBA in Human Resources Management or related field preferred
10+ years in an HR generalist or workforce planning role, preferably in a tech or start-up environment
Experience supporting tech operations organizations
Experience working with fast growing, large, global teams
Global HR experience
Organizational design and change management experience
Strong project management experience
Proven ability to diagnose issues and drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative
Strong business acumen and ability to work well across different functions in order to integrate HR and business strategies
Excellent written and verbal communication; high quality document preparation and presentation skills
Exceptional listening skills and ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels in the organization
Knowledge of employment laws such as ERISA, COBRA, ADA, and other federal and state laws covering discrimination and equal opportunity employment
Able to travel domestically and internationally, as appropriate
Ability to work independently, as well as an active member of both business and HR teams

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
