The Center for the Circular Economy seeks a Senior Program Manager or Program Manager to support initiatives dedicated to advancing the circular economy. Projects and initiatives vary and include managing multi-stakeholder initiatives to accelerate reuse and recycling solutions in QSR, CPG and retail environments.

The role will run for a total of 12 months with a potential to extend based on overall firm needs. Applicants will be required to start this position in June 2025 or July 2025. Location: New York City (preferred). Remote in CST or EST will be considered for exceptional candidates, with occasional travel to NYC office or for client meetings

Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee and project manage high-profile, multi-stakeholder initiatives within diverse industry sectors, touching upon every stage of the product and customer journey. This includes program areas such as reuse, recycling, and other circularity initiatives.
  • Serve as liaison with key stakeholders including brand owners, consultants, subject matter experts, and industry partners
  • Draft multi-year initiative timelines, budgets, and manage daily deadlines and tasks to ensure deliverables are executed on-time, at the highest quality, and within budget
  • Prioritize and coordinate tasks across multiple workstreams, managing complex stakeholder relationships and adapting to evolving program needs.
  • Create project communications plans, presentations, and agendas; lead stakeholder updates and presentations
  • Plan and facilitate multi-stakeholder workshops and roundtables to advance initiative priorities and bring together critical stakeholders across relevant value chains
  • Identify, source, and manage in-field projects such as reuse launches or recycling pilots. This includes overseeing strategic vendors, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring seamless, on-the-ground execution.
  • Develop and execute programming roadmaps and targets to achieve stated goals and objectives, including building program plans and timelines, resourcing and execution and stakeholder management.
  • Identify internal and external expertise needed for unique and technically complex projects, leveraging in-house capacity and outsourced support effectively.
  • Lead in-store implementation that may include design and execution of marketing, research, store operations support, and communications
  • Lead in-market recycling programs and trials that may include program design and execution, research and analysis, stakeholder and vendor management, analytical outputs, brand presentations and communications.
  • Design and execute data collection and analysis plans that may include quantitative and qualitative inputs. Responsibilities include research design, quality assurance, synthesis and interpretation, and the creation of clear, actionable insights through visual storytelling.
  • Support thought leadership exercises to advance program priorities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with the policy team to interpret regulatory developments (including EPR), support program priorities, assess compliance needs, and help identify and address potential risks.
  • Contribute to other Center special projects as needed

    • Required qualifications:
  • 3-7 years of experience within the relevant fields of CPG, QSR, retail, top-tier management consulting, waste management and recycling, packaging or environmental policy
  • Experience working in client services on high-profile projects
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills
  • Ability to learn new subject matter areas quickly across a broad portfolio
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills and ability to evaluate complex, often ambiguous, multi-stakeholder challenges
  • Strong writing and editing skills and experience in drafting concise and effective internal- and external-facing presentations (e.g., Word, PPT, XLS)
  • Differentiated experience in operations, supply chain or consumer research, and interest in managing in-field projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail

New York City Metro Area Salary Range: $105,000-$140,000

National Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000

Compensation is commensurate with experience and finalized title.
