Job Description Summary
The Lead Hot Gas Path Product Service Engineer will provide technical support for fielded GE Gas Turbines with focus in the Hot Gas Path (HGP) technology.

In this role you will be responsible for solving technical issues at customer sites; ranging from daily technical troubleshooting/recommendations to complex Root Cause Analyses with long-term business implications to GE and our customers.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Engineering support of installed base of Gas Turbines (GT) with focus in Hot Gas Path (HGP) Systems.
  • Work with commercial, design, and customer teams to provide issue resolution for technical issues. This involves applying Engineering techniques and processes to develop solutions and ensuring that specific issues are resolved in terms of accuracy, quality, and timeliness to meet customer needs and business goals.
  • Provide engineering support to the Field Services teams during planned outages.
  • Prepare technical presentations for Customers and Senior Leadership: User conferences, webinars, or other customer technical reviews.
  • Develop technical information letters (TILs or ETCs) to provide clear and accurate communications to GT customers with respect to technical issues, risk, and our recommendations to resolve.
  • Apply engineering skills, experience, and tools to solve a field failure through Root Causes Analysis (RCA).
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being addressed.
  • Interface with external and internal suppliers to identify the most cost-effective solution that meets customer's request.
  • Travel to customer locations in support of commercial teams during unplanned/forced outages and customer technical review meetings.
  • Work with design and development teams to successfully introduce new products.
  • Participate in Lean Action Workouts and lead Kaizen projects to improve internal Product Service processes and support continuous improvement efforts .


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science Engineering, or related engineering field of study from an accredited college or university OR a High school diploma/ GED with 7 years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Gas Turbine Design, Services, Repair, or Testing
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Able to interface and communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally with customers (tell the story in a way that everyone from an entry level plant outage engineer to a customer chief engineer or from a GE entry level field engineer to GE executive can understand it and get what they need to execute).
  • Team player with global mindset and ability to work effectively with different cultures.
  • Prior experience in a customer support / facing role. Anticipates customer needs and ensures that they are met. Develop understanding of background situations and where conversations are leading and steer them in productive directions.
  • Self-starter with initiative and interpersonal skills to direct projects and work, of cross- functional nature, with demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion.
  • Ability and desire to identify and implement continuous process improvements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team building skills. Ability to develop relationships across the organization to build loyalty and commitment. Can energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people.
  • Understands business objectives and drives specific tasks required to meet the objectives.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to remain calm and collected in challenging/safety related/high cost situations to develop a step by step plan, communicate it, gain concurrence through technical prowess, and drive to completion.


The base pay range for this position is $88,600.00 - $147,600.00 USD per year. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
