The Health Informatics Branch (HIB) serves as the guardian of the Provincial Digital Health Strategy, ensuring alignment and consistency across all partners in the health sector. By actively evaluating initiatives and guiding governance processes, the Branch reinforces the strategic vision and encourages collective accountability. HIB's role is pivotal in fostering collaboration and ensuring that the strategy remains at the forefront of decision-making and implementation, driving meaningful progress in health system transformation.

The Opportunity

As the Manager of Business Integration and Technology, you will execute strategic plans, coordinate stakeholder relationships, and oversee Ministry projects that drive the successful integration of digital health initiatives. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for providing support for portfolio management within the Ministry. You will work closely with Ministry branches and health sector partners to ensure key projects are effectively managed and remain in alignment with the Ministry's strategic priorities. Your strategic vision and operational expertise will enable you to assess challenges, recommend solutions, and maintain focus on delivering impactful, patient-centered outcomes.

We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated strategic leader with a passion for advancing digital transformation in a health-care setting. You will excel at fostering partnerships, facilitating collaboration, and supporting delivery of solutions for complex challenges. Your strong analytical skills and operational insight will empower you to assess challenges, oversee Ministry initiatives, and sustain impactful outcomes in Saskatchewan's health-care system.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring engagement and integration of digital health initiatives when strategic plans are executed.
  • Coordinating and maintaining strong relationships with partners and stakeholders to support shared goals.
  • Providing oversight for projects, monitoring the status of timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful execution of digital health initiatives.
  • Managing Ministry portfolios ensuring strategic alignment and the Ministry's and health-care sector's capacity to deliver.
  • Addressing governance challenges, reviewing information, and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Facilitating committee/project operations, ensuring productive collaboration and decision-making.
  • Applying knowledge of digital health governance to meet policy frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Navigating government decision-making processes, including legislative development and financial approval cycles.


The Ideal Candidate

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address challenges and improve outcomes.
  • Experience with change management, project management, and portfolio management strategies to ensure the successful adoption of new initiatives.
  • Demonstrated competence in facilitating, driving collaboration, and achieving consensus.
  • Experience with governance frameworks, including policy development, regulatory compliance, and facilitating effective decision-making processes.
  • Proficient using different management and leadership skills and styles in response to challenging situations in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity and inclusiveness by being open; acting with empathy; sharing resources and knowledge across teams; and being respectful of all skills and viewpoints.


The following will be considered assets:

  • Knowledge of government processes, including legislative changes, budget approvals, and cabinet protocols.
  • Formal education or designation in portfolio management, project management, business analysis, and change management practices and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with digital health transformation and interoperability.


Typically, the knowledge and abilities for this position would be acquired through the completion of a graduate degree in the social sciences, public administration and/or policy, as well as years of related experience in progressively responsible roles. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
