Asset Servicing Technology - Director of Software Development

Job Overview:

Asset Servicing Technology is looking for a director for software development to manage software development teams that will build a new generation of applications to provide end-to-end workflow for Exchange Traded Funds. The role will require the ability to work directly with business operations, product, user experience and architecture teams to deliver cutting edge applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, mentor, upskill, and lead technology team members.
  • Work closely with product, business operations, architects, and software development leaders to define target designs.
  • Leverage a deep understanding of mission critical cloud technologies and patterns to engineer for a very high level of resilience.
  • Apply modern software engineering principles to ensure full automation of deployment and testing pipelines.
  • Choose appropriate languages, technologies, and design patterns consistent with functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Develop an understanding in the underlying solution domain sufficient to discuss concerns of any subject matter experts and form objective opinions.
  • Communicate effectively sharing successes and challenges. In-spite of challenges, use creative problems solving and intelligent networking to deliver value.


Experience:

10+ years experience managing software development initiatives demonstrating progressive of greater responsibility. 5+ years experience with cloud technologies. Significant experience demonstrating understanding of cloud data constructs, and development-test-deployment pipelines. Demonstrated ability to lead geographically diverse software development teams working in modern cloud, containerized methodologies. History of successful delivery.

Salary Range:
$164,600 - 288,000 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
