The ideal candidate will have a mixture of traffic and safety study experience, with a focus on traffic operational studies. While the major focus will be FDOT style work for state and local agencies, this position will also lead studies for private developer projects. Projects will generally be focused in Florida, however LJA values work sharing opportunities and performing similar work in other states is expected.

General Responsibilities:
- Building relationships and growing business in the transportation sector.
- Develop business by marketing the company to existing clients and as well identifying and marketing to new clients.
- Meeting with cities, counties and local agencies for business development purposes.
- Responsible for study analysis and direction of traffic studies for FDOT and local government projects
- Manage and maintain project schedules and financial requirements.
- Uses advanced techniques, theory, precepts and practices in a specialized engineering field and related sciences and disciplines.
- Interact with Client and other consultants and must have good communication skills.
- Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Required Education/Licenses:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is required.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Florida with ability to be licensed in other states.
Required Experience:
- 20+ years of experience with FDOT procedures a must
- Experience with Signal4 is a plus.
- Multiple levels of responsibility with PE required.
- Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis.
- Proven experience in handling project management responsibilities including multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and internal employees.
- Ability to build strong relationships.
