Kafka Admin

Key Responsibilities:

Cluster Management:

• Set up, configure, and maintain Apache Kafka clusters.
• Perform regular Kafka upgrades and patching to ensure the latest and most secure versions.
• Monitor Kafka cluster health, manage brokers, topics, partitions, and replication strategies.

Performance Tuning:

• Optimize Kafka performance for high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and bottlenecks.

Security Management:

• Implement security measures such as SSL encryption, SASL authentication, and access control lists (ACLs).
• Ensure data privacy and compliance by securing Kafka communication channels.

Backup and Disaster Recovery:

• Implement and monitor backup and recovery procedures for Kafka data.
• Design and test disaster recovery plans for Kafka infrastructure.

Monitoring and Alerts:

• Set up and manage Kafka monitoring tools (e.g., Kafka Manager, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Respond to alerts and resolve issues proactively.

Integration:

• Collaborate with developers and data engineers to integrate Kafka with other data processing systems.
• Help teams with Kafka consumer and producer configurations.
