Our Regional Health & Safety Manager will oversee health and safety operations across all NorLand operations in the lower mainland and play a pivotal role in driving a proactive safety culture.

Compensation:
The role is a permanent, full-time position with a typical salary range of $120,000 to $145,000 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate's competencies, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and experience. NorLand offers a comprehensive total rewards package that includes a competitive base salary, extended health and dental plans with premiums full paid by the company, as well as paid time off and generous RRSP matching. Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy Execution
- Lead and mentor H&S leads, ensuring alignment with NorLand's H&S framework
- Drive a proactive and engaged safety culture across the region
- Collaborate with other leaders to integrate H&S into business planning and execution
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging safety innovations to improve operational efficiency
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal H&S regulations
- Oversee risk assessments, audits, and corrective actions to mitigate safety risks
- Provide expert guidance on regulatory changes and their impact on business operations
Incident Management & Investigation
- Lead and support investigations of serious incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are effectively implemented
- Track and analyze incident trends to drive continuous improvement and ensure all required reporting is completed accurately and on time
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Establish and monitor key safety performance indicators for the region that allows for data-driven decisions that improve safety outcomes
- Provide regular reports to the Director of H&S, highlighting trends, risks, and recommendations
Training & Competency Development
- Develop and implement safety training programs tailored to divisional needs
- Support field leadership in enhancing their safety competency through coaching and mentorship
Visible Field Leadership & Engagement
- Regularly visit project sites to engage with frontline workers, supervisors, and managers
- Champion safety initiatives and foster a culture of accountability
- Lead by example in demonstrating a hands-on, proactive approach to safety leadership
Qualifications & Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in a health & safety managerial role, preferably in construction, contracting, or industrial environments
- Registered Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is required
- Experience leading a team of H&S professionals across multiple business units or divisions
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, industry best practices, and risk management
- Proven ability to influence and engage senior leadership and field teams
- Lean Construction or continuous improvement experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
