About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Director of Accounting specializing in reporting and finance transformation to join our dynamic team. In this key accounting leadership role, you will own all facets of our internal and external financial reporting, overseeing and enhancing our processes of reporting to management stakeholders and public-company-ready GAAP reporting to our parent Company, CBRE. You will be a key project manager and leader in a variety of special projects both related to reporting and enhancing our existing processes. These projects will include driving change in the area of internal controls, enhancing financial systems, and improving the availability and consistency of financial data. In the role, you will deliver actionable financial insights and solutions, as well as optimize processes to support effective decision-making.

This role requires a proven project manager with excellent accounting and finance acumen, who thrives on finding system-driven solutions and designing efficient processes to meet complex business needs. You'll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of financial reporting areas, including providing critical information to business leaders, executives, operators, our parent company, and preparing SEC financial statement disclosures.

You'll be joining a close knit group of high performing, fun loving, karaoke singing (participation not required!) finance and accounting professionals. This is a hybrid role, based in New York City, and is expected to be in office two days per week. You will report directly to our VP, Controller, and will have 2 direct reports (from our Manager of Transformation and our Senior Manager of Reporting).

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to month-end public company reporting calendar, delivering timely and accurate monthly results; this role is not heavily involved in the GL close, but will drive reporting enhancements, prepare reporting, and deliver monthly reporting to our parent company
  • Lead a team of 2 direct reports who will manage transformation & reporting, providing excellent coaching, development and project management
  • Perform business performance reviews to evaluate business performance and identify potential business trends or accounting errors
  • Deliver accurate and decision-useful monthly financial reporting to business operators and leaders, including relevant financial reporting metrics and bridge from US GAAP reported results to management reporting metrics
  • Develop and oversee processes that meet quarterly reporting disclosure requirements
  • Oversee the global consolidation and intercompany eliminations process
  • Drive system-enhancement projects to bring automation to close processes and reporting processes
  • Ensure reporting is built in a way that supports statutory reporting needs
  • Be a valued thought partner on internal controls projects, and executing projects related to internal controls including the documentation of processes, implementation and monitoring of effective internal controls
  • Understand existing processes and identify opportunities for enhancements
  • Play a key role in elevating the Company's existing accounting function through execution and oversight of special projects including systems integration and enhancement, migration of existing acquired businesses and potential future data migrations, the overall design of systems and processes, and developing accounting processes to support on future product innovations rolled-out by the business
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and leaders to understand business needs, and where reporting and data insights can elevate the business

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school and a CPA designation is required
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably with public company reporting exposure
  • Prior experience at a Big 4 accounting firm strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with public company reporting requirements and SOX internal controls is required
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial systems; experience with OneStream or similar consolidation and reporting tools is a plus
  • Proven track record as an effective project manager, with experience leading significant finance projects and cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience managing small teams to meet or exceed company goals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement optimal processes
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Compensation: The annual base compensation range for this role is between $170,000 - $180,000. The successful candidate's actual base compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and professional qualifications. You will also be eligible for an annual 15% bonus and participation in our long-term incentive program.

Base and bonus compensation are just two components of Industrious' total compensation package for this role.
