Eaton's Mobility Group is hiring a dynamic Vice President, Procurement in Southfield, Michigan. Please note relocation is not included in this position.

What you'll do:

Job Summary

Reporting to the President of the Mobility Group, the Procurement Leader will drive the Global Procurement Strategy for a business segment with $3.7B in annual sales, approximately 13,000 employees across 28 global manufacturing sites, and an annual spend of $1.8B. This role oversees the performance of all global categories including Forging, Springs, Sealants, Bearings, Stampings, Friction Material, Clutch, Ferrous Castings, Long Steel Products and indirect materials.

The incumbent will provide leadership across six critical business areas: Procurement of Direct Materials, Procurement of Indirect Materials, SCM related-New Product Introduction, Cost Out and VAVE Projects, Supplier Development and Procurement Functional Excellence. The Procurement Leader will be responsible for driving performance and ensuring the financial health of suppliers, while defining proactive resourcing plans to optimize supply chain performance. This leader will achieve these objectives through a team of ~50 Supply Chain professionals across five regions.

Job Responsibilities
Lead the strategy and execution of the Global Procurement Team to ensure the Mobility Group achieves cost reduction and resiliency goals. Collaborate with Business Divisions, Regions, Marketing, Manufacturing Organizations, and Corporate to implement these strategies effectively.
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of Direct and Indirect Material Productivity projects to drive improved cost performance. Regularly review and align existing controls and governance with globally defined processes.
Collaborate with engineering, program management, manufacturing, and quality teams to identify and qualify new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to support the successful launch of new products.
Act as a liaison between the GPO, Business Engineering teams, and other stakeholders to deliver significant Direct and Indirect Material Cost-out performance.
Work closely with regions and businesses to manage sourcing and risk for the supply base, supporting both current and new product development.
Resolve supplier issues and support footprint rationalization efforts by working with plant and operations leadership, including plant start-ups and closures.
Maximize commercial negotiations and establish material purchase agreements through interactions with global procurement organizations.
Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement supply chain strategies for new product introductions, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing, procurement, and delivery of materials.
Ensure early SCM engagement in new product introductions by aligning advanced sourcing with category strategies and collaborating with strategic suppliers for timely and quality launches.
Create an executable playbook around Design to Value in conjunction with the Global Procurement & Engineering Functional Excellence. Provide leadership to partner with business engineering teams to drive the creation and execution of VAVE projects.
Lead the creation of targets for resiliency and capital B and C during Profit Planning season, in alignment with regions and businesses.
Partner with regions and functional excellence teams to lead price increase initiatives and establish tariff modeling and goals.
Drive the Supplier Development Global Strategy
Lead Quarterly Supplier Townhalls and Councils to foster communication and collaboration with suppliers.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, business, engineering and/or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Master's Degree preferred in Mechanical / Electrical / Systems / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.

Years and area of experience required
  • Minimum of 15 years of procurement/supply chain related experience. Engineering/technology product development and VAVE experience is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading people.
  • Experience in handling global/diverse stakeholders, and a team of approximately 50 employees in multiple regions.
  • Experience of working cross functional teams in leading large-scale initiatives.

Technical knowledge
  • The ideal candidate must be an experienced and highly professional supply chain executive possessing a track record of success throughout his/her career and broad capability across all organizational functions.
  • Good combination of strategic vision and an effective interpersonal style and "hands-on" approach.
  • The right candidate will have extensive experience leading multi-site teams
  • Strong experience on automotive standards, customer requirements and supplier delivery strategy

Position criteria
Strong understanding in the launch of new products in the market including working with other functions such as marketing, SCM and Manufacturing.
Project Management experience: This leader should have a proven track record of successful project management and be familiar with all aspects of the project life cycle.
Experience in effectively coaching and mentoring senior leaders/direct reports.
Possess a deep understanding of how culture and team dynamics create exceptional teams.
Demonstrated leadership effectiveness in a global setting.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $222750.0 - $326700.0 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
