Electrical Design Engineer - Full Time

This is a full-time position. The Electrical Design Engineer position, located in Sterling Heights, Michigan, US, is in charge of devising analog and digital circuitry to address customer problems. This role necessitates an extensive understanding of job duties, expertise in utilizing strong engineering and circuitry design rules, familiarity with business protocols, criteria, and tools, the capacity to create and execute all parts of many projects, the ability to utilize independent judgment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the capability to work without much oversight.

The job may at times require exposure to manufacturing areas, in which cases the wearing of protective gear such as safety goggles with side shields and hearing protection may be mandated. The primary environment of this job may include a typical office setting with regular room temperatures, lighting, and office equipment.

Standard flex days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. However, the EE Designer is expected to dedicate the time required to meet the company's strategic plan.

Responsibilities
The Engineer is responsible for creating panel wiring and layouts based on the accepted industry norm
Design AC & DC, Analog, and Digital circuitry to solve problems for our customers
Design panel wiring and layouts based on accepted industry standards
Design the hardware and software as needed to reliably test our customers' products, taking from concept to prototype
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation
Program microcontrollers
Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable experience
Must have been employed in the field for a MINIMUM of 3-5 years
Demonstrated proficiency with EPLAN (Electrical), the company's CAD design tools
Must possess an excellent grasp of circuit design and circuit analysis
Must understand applicable industry standards, such as NEC and IEC
Must have familiarity with electrical equipment and control systems
Must be able to work collaboratively with engineers and other team members to meet deadlines
Must possess a sharp skill set and be motivated to maintain development
Must have experience transitioning designs from concept to construction documents
Must have a working knowledge of TCP/IP and PC Networking
Must be able to troubleshoot electronic equipment using high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and waveform generators
Must be able to analyze problems, multitask, and work in a team environment
Must have experience with LIN and CAN serial communication protocols
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong team player
Technological skills required with knowledge of operations, manufacturing software, as well as Microsoft products, including Excel and Word, in a Windows environment
