Position Description
The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is seeking a Real-Time Crime Center Analyst (Ord. Title: Management Systems Analyst-BU) to support the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) team, playing a vital role in ensuring effective real-time support for SPD operations. This position involves monitoring police dispatch communications, analyzing and disseminating critical information, and operating advanced technological resources to support field officers, 911 dispatchers, and Command staff. This role is instrumental in contributing to SPD's crime reduction and public safety objectives through real-time response, analysis, and coordination during incidents, utilizing emerging public safety technologies such as CCTV, and Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPR).

Position Description

Job Responsibilities
- Provides support to the department through the monitoring of an RTCC workstation, which includes multitasking with multiple computer/camera screens.
- Utilizes Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), CCTV, ALPR, and other systems to detect criminal activity and relays this information to the responding and/or on-scene officers via radio or message.
- Monitors active police dispatch frequencies, maintaining communication with field officers, the 911 Center, and Command staff to provide assistance during incidents or investigations.
- Helps facilitate coordination among multiple responders during large-scale events, such as pursuits, standoffs, or tactical operations.
- Assesses the relevance and value of collected information, deciding how best to disseminate it to SPD teams.
- Access, input, and query information across City, State, and Federal systems such as CAD, RMS, NCIC, RTCC software, digital evidence systems, and video management systems.
- Testify in court as necessary, providing eyewitness or audio/video recording evidence from incidents for which the analyst was present or recorded.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Requires two years in systems, operational, procedures, research or analysis and a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science or a related field (or a combination of education, training and/or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
Position Requirements:
- Must pass a Seattle Police Department background investigation.
- Must have a valid WA Driver's License.
- This is an onsite position; the employee is expected to perform work in person, there is no remote work. Individual schedules will be based on an agreement between the employee and their supervisor.
Work Environment:
- Busy call center type environment.
- Required to work nights, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and possible overtime to staff the RTCC critical hours (contingent on staffing needs).
- Frequent communication with field officers and command staff in high-stress, urgent situations.
- Viewing of potentially traumatic real-time and recorded crime scenes.
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to multitask in a high-stress, dynamic environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Knowledge of CAD, RMS, digital evidence management, and other law enforcement technologies.
- Understanding of police procedures, dispatch operations, and legal guidelines.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills for rapid situational assessment.
- Clear, concise communication abilities for relaying critical information to involved parties.
